After freelancing and working on my own website in film criticism, I decided to do a social media marketing course at George Brown College to expand my opportunities of possibly working in the entertainment industry in a different capacity. After finishing that course, I began to work at the brand new streaming service shomi where I was hired as their Social Media Marketing Coordinator & Community Manager and worked until the service shut down in 2015.

I executed multi-million dollar social acquisition campaigns as well crafted copy and posted on all social platforms for the shomi brand. Worked with creative agencies to develop graphics and videos for our social posts while developing a monthly content calendar based on set-out priorities and brainstormed engagement programs.

My team took shomi from a completely new brand to tens of thousands of followers.

2015 Marketer of the Year

After a gigantic launch campaign and successful first year, we were awarded Marketer of the Year by Marketing Magazine.
